Peter Oswald y Barbara Fränzen fundaron Kairos en Viena en 1999 con una idea fija: registrar la música clásica contemporánea con la fidelidad técnica que el género exigía. Su primer lanzamiento, la grabación de *Infinito Nero* de Salvatore Sciarrino a cargo del ensemble recherche, fijó un estándar de precisión y silencio que redefinió el mercado de la música nueva. Kairos importa porque no se limitó a documentar partituras difíciles; construyó un refugio sonoro donde la vanguardia de posguerra y los nuevos creadores encontraron una escucha atenta, transformando la complejidad en un territorio habitable.
