En 1993, el abogado Stephen Sutton fundó Divine Art en el pueblo inglés de Simonburn con un único fin: editar un casete para juntar fondos y restaurar el órgano de su iglesia local. Ese impulso amateur se convirtió en un catálogo de cientos de discos dedicados a rescatar partituras olvidadas, música de cámara inusual y obras contemporáneas que los sellos grandes ignoraban. Su fuerza no reside en repetir el canon, sino en dar control artístico total a los intérpretes. No buscan la venta masiva, sino documentar la música que de otro modo se perdería.
