Joachim Becker fundó Zoho en Millwood en 2003 para capturar la corriente que une al jazz de Nueva York con las rítmicas del sur. El sello se consolidó rápido: en 2005, el pianista Pablo Ziegler ganó un Grammy Latino por Bajo Cero, un disco de tango nuevo que redefinió el alcance de la etiqueta. Zoho importa porque no buscó la nostalgia del Buena Vista, sino el diálogo vivo de la calle; ahí conviven el pulso de Arturo O’Farrill con las cuerdas de Carlos Barbosa-Lima. Es el registro de una identidad híbrida que sigue latiendo.
