En 2000, los ingenieros de sonido Olaf Mielke y Moritz Bergfeld fundaron Coviello Classics en Darmstadt con una premisa clara: la técnica debía estar al servicio absoluto del intérprete. El debut de la violista Tatjana Masurenko ese mismo año marcó el rumbo de un catálogo enfocado en la acústica pura y en repertorios poco transitados, como las óperas tempranas de Verdi grabadas por Marcus Bosch. Coviello importa porque demuestra que un sello de música clásica puede sostenerse sin directivos de traje, confiando la producción entera a la intuición del músico.
