American Female Vocal Group. The original Brides of Funkenstein were Lynn Mabry and Dawn Silva, two vocalists who were background singers for Sly and the Family Stone in the mid-70s. George Clinton first met them while Sly was opening for Parliament-Funkadelic and offered them to join the P.Funk camp in 1977. A year later, 1978, the Brides debut album was released.
