American pianist, arranger, songwriter. Do NOT confuse with the singer Bob Allen (3). He collaborated with the lyricist Al Stillman on several occasions. He was also an accompanist for Perry Como, Peter Lind Hayes, Arthur Godfrey. As a songwriter, he charted 57 times in the U.S. and U.K. between 1951 and 2021. "Chances Are" by Johnny Mathis was his only #1 and came in 1957.
