Herman Lubinsky

American record company and radio station owner. He established Newark's first radio station (WNJ) in the early 1920s. Prior to this, he was a wireless officer on the merchant ship, USS Carpethia, which sent distress messages while the Titanic was sinking. Later on, the survival list was sent to shore from that ship. He is remembered as the founder of Savoy Records in 1939.
