Benny started his career in 1975 with Dominion Records (8), producing, selling, and promoting a syndicated broadcast, "Hank Williams and the Drifting Cowboys.". He then started his mastering career at Nashville Record Productions. He became chief mastering engineer and general manager of The Lacquer Place in 1979.
