In the late 1950s, Waldron was the piano accompanist of Billie Holiday in the last two years of her life and was a mainstay of Prestige being credited on about 40 of the label's albums, mostly as sideman with the sessions jointly led by Eric Dolphy and Booker Little probably being the most prized.
