Session bass player, vocalist, keyboard player, producer, TV composer (Soul Train) and engineer from the USA. Davis recorded, toured and co-wrote with O'Bryan in the 1980s (including the tv-theme song for Soul Train). He worked later with Chaka Khan (music director), Pointer Sisters, Bryan Ferry, Lee Ritenour and others. (Not to be confused with the 1960s Detroit artist Melvin Davis (2)).
