Maggie Hawthorn

Former jazz & theatre critic for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. She was born (1929) and raised in Seattle, Washington and started out at the newspaper in 1972 as a secretary, became columnist Emmett Watson's assistant. She started reporting for the paper and became an Arts writer as well before becoming the jazz, theatre and dance critic.
