An American indie rock band from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, formed in 1989. For most of the bands history, the line-up consisted of Mac McCaughan (lead vocals/guitar), Laura Ballance (bass), Jim Wilbur (guitar) and Jon Wurster (drums). In 2013, Jason Narducy replaced Ballance as the live/touring bass player, with Ballance continuing to play on all studio recordings.
