Albert McCarthy

English songwriter, jazz writer and magazine editor. Author of "The Dance Band Era: The Dancing Decades from Ragtime to Swing, 1910-1950" (1971) and "Big Band Jazz" (1974) and co-author of "Jazz On Record A Critical Guide to the First 50 years 1917-1967" (1968). Editor of "Jazz Monthly" magazine (later "Jazz and Blues") from 1955 to 1972.
