Ruth Davis

American gospel singer (September 27, 1927- January 2, 1970), nicknamed "Baby Sis". Founder and lead singer of the gospel group The Davis Sisters (2). She formed the group at age 17 in 1945. Influenced to be a singer by her family, and by singers Ira Tucker and Dinah Washington, she wrote and arranged many of the group's songs including "I Believe I'll Go Back Home".
